those were the days spotting was really exiting ?

Wow Javindo,

What a beautifull collection of pics. Is it possible to put some dates with the pics?

Correct of course, Adriaan. Taken through the construction works fence, with 50mm (the image is cropped a bit)!

Nice pictures. 3 years ago i recieved a cd with a couple of pictures from around 1967.

They were taken by the grandfather of a girlfriend called Marcha.

I only cropped them a little bit.
Enjoy.

:grumble: Thanks a lot! I just drooled all over my keyboard.....I guess the number of flights wasn't as high as nowadays, but what a variety....especially the British seem to have had so many great and yet rather unknown types: Argosies, Heralds, Viscounts, Vanguards, Ambassadors, Vikings, Tridents, VC-10's. How is it possible that loads of people try to keep Connies and Daks in the sky, but nobody has done the same with the Argosy or the Ambassador. I think they're great looking planes, the Ambassador even looks a bit like a high-wing version of the Connie.

Bas, I agree with your taste. Without starting an in-depth discussions (it's the photo forum): major factors I think are the number of aircraft built and the length of their career.

Thanks again for the wonderful images, chaps.

Well, the reason for this is that most of the types you mention were already phased out before mankind even thought about preserving airliners. And realise it's difficult.. even today it's hardly possible to keep an old airliner airworthy, due to high costs, lack of sponsoring or absurd regulations.
