LSK/DDR Drewitz-Jänschwalde 1988

This time I start a post, perhaps the most big scoop that aviation photographer can do in 1988. After 4 years of requests to the Embassy in East Germany (even if Germany was not united and the wall still existed), I reached the longed-OK. I leave now to East Berlin via Vienna. Because of the raging storm and fog as well as other technical problems in Austria, I am hijacked a flight to Prague and Czechoslovakia's CSA from here with a Iterflug of IL-18 in East Berlin
The next day a military bus take the me in the hotel and bring me to Drewitz-Jänschwalde (Cottbus) near on the Polish border . For the first time I see a flag waving enough unusual: the German Democratic Republic or DDR.
As a worldwide first greetings, coffee ', welcome exception cc. That day and then the picture 'was memorable because' many many planes had arrived in Drewith-Jenshwalde to celebrate a major LSK anniversary with the presence of very very high military authorities' and the cutting of some MIG 21 for the reduction of arms as dictated international agreements to that time.
I had never seen so many Mig21, Mi23, L39 at once in front of me! INCREDIBLE! I had never seen the parade with the famous "goose step" that only the Germans can do. LSK/DDR an unknown world at that time!!!!

Ah, you were present when JG7 Wilhelm Pieck decided to cut up its fleet of almost 50 MiG-21's. I've seen pictures at the time in Flugrevue, but that you were there... Wow! I guess all the MiG-21SPS you pictured were scrapped there soon. Do you have more pictures? Grazzie!

I was there GREAT. Thanks I did not remember was the JG7 Wilhelm Pieck! I think I have more slides to scan. I also gave a nice coin for the occasion. Another amazing day with an air force for that time unknown and with unknow SPS/K (Kanone) (cannon) Mig 21 variant!!!

MiG-21SPK is the "local" designation given by LSK/LV to the MiG21SPS wired for carrying the GP-9 gun gondola. In the same way, they called "MiG-21SPS" their MiG21PFM (SPS is the Russian name for the blown flaps system)
