Mi-2 in Schaijk

Post by Theo van den Boomen »

Hoi

Since today another Mi-2 is preserved in Schaijk. A few years ago there already has been standing one as well, but it has moved since. Unfortunately I wasn't able to indentify the chopper. On the four exhaust covers were four numbers: 309, 347, 333, 307, which doesn't help a lot with identifying. You can find the Mi-2 on the Swanenberg Heliport along the road N324 (Grave-Oss). Can anyone recogize the chopper?

On the property of the Swanenberg IJzer Groep ons the other side of the Zeelandsedreef are also three Czech KT-04 drones seen to be seen.

Most probably not, since it left in 2003 and then also the windows were painted on that one.

If you can see all four exhaust covers I guess you walked up to it? If so, it should be possible to check the c/n plate which is in the cockpit on the right hand side. It is on the side of the instrument panel, and is visible through the bottom window in the nose.

Hello

Today I visit Swanenberg IJzer Groep in Schaik.
The Letov KT-04 drone's are not at this location anymore.
They wil be painted in another - unknown - colourscheme.

The 3 drone's are lying at Ploegmakers Heftruckservice BV
The adress is Kantsingel 20 in the town Oss.

The serials are:
06-11
09-11
10-15

Within a week the drone's go back to Swanenberg IJzer Groep in Schaik.

I've e-mailed Swanenberg Heli Services about the identity of the new Mi-2 and got a very friendly answer with a pdf attached stating this as its history:

Mi 2S constructienummer 564410105 gebouwd : 1975
Ex Oost-Duitsche Luschmacht ( LSK/LV ) 374
Ex West-Duitsche Luchtmacht ( LW ) 94+71
347
- Hubschraubergeschwader 34 ( HG-34 « Werner Seelenbinder » )
- Hubschraubergeschwader 54 ( HG-54 « Adolf von Lutzow » )
- Kampfhubschraubergeschwader 57 ( KHG-57 )
- Hubschrauberstaffel de Fuhrung und Aufklarung ( HFSA-5 )
94+71
- LuftTransportGruppe ( LTGrp )
LTGrp was ook bekend als LTG 65 ( LuftTransportGruppe 65 ).
Daarna is de helicopter opgeslagen op het vliegveld Rotenburg, en in 1993 verkocht aan Aerotec welke ook
op Rotenburg actief is.

So mystery solved!

Greetz,

Good work, finding out the id!
One small correction, the former NVA/LSK serial should be 347 according to several sources, not 374. Maybe you can pass this on to the company as well?

Klopt inderdaad, 374 was een foutje van mij, dikke vingers :-)
Het constructieplaatje is via de telefoon door de eigenaar bevestigt, hij is die dag
speciaal naar de heli gelopen om het gehele nummer door te geven.

Good Morning,
Yesterday (Saturday the 15th) 3 blue-white Letov's without serials but with Sawnenberg logo's were seen on a permanent construction along the "Graafsebaan", the main North-South road
at the eastern perimeter of Oss. I assume these are the three wich would go back to
Schaik, but apparently didn't....

It turned out this Mi-2 was gone for only about a week for whatever reason. It's back on it's spot near the only traffic lights in Schaijk city :D
