komatsu airbase - photo opportunities ?

Hello
We are planning a tour of japan for the autumn .
The only base I am lacking intel on is Komatsu .I believe this was a good photography airbase in the past !.
What are the current locations like ? .
also on the spotting front , I believe there is a civil terminal , does this have a viewing facility ?.
Many thanks.

CG,
Komatsu is OK with a westerly wind, the east side landing has a good overview of the approach. Planes are reasonably low.
The western end with an easterly wind is slightly more awkward due to the high trees and lies on a more busy road. Tonight, I will post sme images shot at both locations.

Cheers,
Hans.

There is also a viewing area above the civil terminal(I was last there in October 2006).Afternoon photography should be OK from there.

As promised, some approach shots from Komatsu. Not the best of weather on the day unfortunately, but you'll get the point.

Thanks very much for your replies
The taxi back shot looks very interesting
Don't seem to see too many logs for this base or Chitose , for that matter.

Many thanks

In 2004 I made these shots from the civil terminal.
