From Japanese sources come information on some of the Orions deployed with TDY unit VP-1,resident here since 01st December last year.

2 airplanes noted,both sans markings,

161338
163000 (ex VP-40 TDY at Kadena)

161338 had acquired full VP-16 markings by 16th April.

Visiting P-3C from Kadena noted landing at 15.29 on the 06th January,

So far only 2 P-3C have been identified here with VP-1,they are,

161132 (BMUP modified)
163000

This unit will return to the USA on 01st June at the end of their 6 month TDY.

Most probably a misread for 166935 which is the new NL-541 since feb2012.

Maybe,but this info came from a Japanese source,and ususlly the Japanese are very accurate with information.

On July 14th VAQ-132 arrived for a six month TDY.

NL542 should be 166936 and NL544 166939? NL541 should be 166935?
