REQ: New Orleans

Post by Oscar01 »

Hi,

Does anybody know if the JZ eagles are visible from outside the fence (when not flying) and if you can take some pictures when actually flying?

Cheers,
Oz

No, you can’t see anything from the outside. And I think that you will only be able to get distant views when flying. The airshow is very much advisable.

New Orleans is a great city, but the Joint Reserve Base in Belle Chasse is no fun for spotting.
No options to see anything on the deck from the outside.
Landing 04 can be approached from Buccaneer Rd.
Landing 22 from Barriere Rd near the Medal of Honour Park.
Both quite far and high.
Aim for the airshow, or prepare to waste a lot of time in the bush for (usually) little activity.

I live in New Orleans, and have almost no success in getting photos from outside. The Medal of Honor park is probably the best bet.Unless there is some sort of exercise
there is really not that much flying.

Cheers guys, thanks for your answers!

That will mean: stay in the car and on the highway! ;-)
