Hi Flyboy,

I can't find this notam in the system.
Can you tell me where you found it?

Any update on the NOTAM? No longer visible on the FAA website.

Anybody know under which ICAO the restriction was / is posted? I can't find it under Edwards / China Lake anymore. Is it still in place?

Shared by Edwards and Nas China Lake and both Commanders post briefing to all pilots every year that will be using the space for changes, since both have aircraft that use the area "Sidewinder" which includes a large area, there is no Notam for Jedi Transition at this time.

Which means that they are now allowed to fly in the canyon again?

Notam M0686/19 was active until nov 30th. A search on both “Jedi” and “Star wars canyon” turned up empty, so according flight rules the normal situation applies. Unless the entire route has been cancelled.

One can expect the military to remain low profile one this, so the old school spotting techniques will prevail...

On FB groups it is said that a number of bases (internally) briefed their pilots that it's still a no go.... Time will tell.

Will be pretty close there in April for 2 days with family (panamint springs), so will take a look anyway ;-)

According to an upload on Youtube they are still cleaning the site of debris. Should be done around this week or so....
Planes and jets have been sighted around the canyon but not through it... Maybe as cleaning has been done, back to normal?! Fingers crossed!

Above is correct and will be reviewed once crash investigation is concluded. Various vantage points now off limits.
