Charles de Gaulle OPS North Sea

Post by AK01 »

It seems that, despite the cancelled Frisian Flag the CDG is still operating in the North Sea for the next nine days.
The notam is active now:
A) EHAA EGTT B) 2003180800 C) 2003272200
D) DAILY 0800-2200
E) AIRCRAFT CARRIER BASED MILITARY FLIGHTS ARE OPERATING WITHIN
AREA:5500N 00455E - 5500N 00303E - 5432N 00255E - 5417N 00302E -
5405N 00300E - 5353N 00354E BACK TO 5500N 00455E BTN SFC/FL200.
F) SFC G) FL200

And thanks to Fightercontrol a 1st movement was noted this afternoon.
FNY5481 an E2 was operating over the North Sea.
Perhaps a good waste of time for some of our radio fans to pickup some comms.
During recent ops in the med they used both FNY5*** callsigns, as well as tactical callsigns like Lascar 1** and Kimono1**.

At 14.00z the CDG was near Ebusa which is Latitude 55° 0' 0.00" N, Longitude 5° 54' 9.00" E (so outside the above mentioned area)
Amsterdam reported fighter operations up to flightlevel 080.

Amsterdam info 124.300/ 136.650 had traffic throughout the day. Currently (18.30z) he is warning an offshore helicopter for four low level fighters (Rafale's).

Listened back Amsterdam info, and yesterday morning around 10.00lcl the following was heard:
09.47 Lascar120 checking in, self confirmed as 2x Rafale 100miles north of Leeuwarden, when Amsterdam replied he changed to callsign FNY5642, and minutes he replied as FNY5634. So a bit of an identity problem.
At 09.53 Kimono130 was checking in after departing the carrier, also self identified as 2x Rafale, doing airwork 50 miles south of present position.
