Post by frank kramer »

Friday, april, 13, 2007:
around 18:45 lt, a Stearman passed overhead Almere heading north; possible destination: Lelystad. Aircraft had a silver fuselage, blue tail and yellow wings. Large code "004" and "US NAVY" on the fuselage. Anyone for it's ID?

It arrived a few weeks ago from the States and made its first flight from lelystad on april 2nd.
Registration is N68461, code 004 in USN colours.

For those who have a day off this Monday:
Check
http://www.aviodrome.nl/rondvluchten/vl ... gingen.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for

Short translation: DC-3 Drag 'm Oot will make a flash visit to Lelystad Airfield this Monday. Arrival at 12.00 hrs, departure at 14.00 hrs, weather permitting. Don't know how old this information is...

DC-6 G-APSA in KLM 1953 c/s representing the aircraft that flew in the London-Christchurch Air Race is due at EHLE for Aviodrome's Giants of History Fly In at 1030 lt on Saturday September 1. Also expected: Mitchell N320SQ, Dakota F-AZTE and possibly A-26 N167B (there are rumours about engine-problems preventing it from attending; let's hope these rumours are incorrect!)

Hi,

Just a quick note. Seen flying in today, Saturday 1 September, were
C-47A F-AZTE
A-26B N167B/44-34602
DC-2-142 NC39165/PH-AJU (out & in)
P-51D PH-PSI/44-74425 [edited for error]
DC-6A G-APSA/21
C-47A PH-PBA

'PH-AJU', F-AZTE and G-APSA - now also in immaculate historic KLM colours - did a formation break over the field after their photo session, followed by more passes of G-APSA. Obviously, many more historic aircraft are on the ground at Lelystad. Way to go guys!
