Re: 2022-2023-2024-2025 : RNLAF Open Days / Open Dagen Luchtmacht ?

For 2025 it is announced that there are no Navy-days (next planned now for 2027). One of the reasons is the NATO summit that will need a lot of military personel. Due to the dates of that summit (the week that is directly after the traditional Air Force days weekend) I presume it is very unlikely to...

Also as subject in a novel: Heldere hemel by Tom Lanoye.

Reminds me of the walrus that kept a Dutch submarine in the harbour by resting on the top of it. What made that one even more special was that the sub was from the walrus class.

If you make a payment in Euros and use the correct IBAN and BIC, it shouldn't cost more than a payment within a country. It is an EU law. Maybe you have to pay to get your DKr converted into Euros, but are these fees so high?

Science museum Wroughton

Seen this today via twitter, having a building demolished might not be the most reasonable reason to open a new topic, but the article also mentions that this was needed to have this site opening after years of being closed. When this was still occassionally open, there were a number of pictures on ...

In '97 HAT used Fokker 50s from KLM Cityhopper. TTA was used a lot of times by scramble.

The June 21-27 schedule makes an appearance at RIAT very very uncertain.

Re: 2022-2023-2024 : RNLAF Open Days / Open Dagen Luchtmacht ?

And what if we would held it at deelen or de peel, flying only? Like last time Cambrai? Wouldn't do any justice to an F-16 farewell. Also, those fields don't even have a basic plan for the event that you can pull out of a drawer and "only" have to adjust from lessons learned from the last...

Grtzzz, Stafsels Maybe a formation overflying some pla...

On top of that I can recall a thread on this board in which someone wrote that the KLu does not consider the open day to be one of the primary recruitment tools anymore. Seems it never was, from an interview with an RNLAF recruiting officer published after a Navy days/Sail event: The services get t...

Re: 19-21 July 2024; RIAT Fairford

I’m thinking of visiting RIAT next year but not clear for me which day would be the best to be there. Is there a difference in the program across the 3 days or is the program (more or less) the same for all days? Anyone any thoughts based on previous visits? Also, Friday has only the red and blue s...
