Question on history: Ramstein

Hi there For our Spotting Group Volkel magazine AIM, I am doing some research on the history of Ramstein AB. I am searching for all units (owning aircraft) which have been stationed at Ramstein from 1953 untill now. In the 70's there have been, apart from the obvious (38TRS, 512 + 526TFS, 67ARRS, 60...

Re: Mi-2 in Schaijk

It turned out this Mi-2 was gone for only about a week for whatever reason. It's back on it's spot near the only traffic lights in Schaijk city :D

Re: Luchtmachtdagen 2013 Volkel - wishes, dreams, chit chat

Apart from the obvious but sooo very welcome (C)F-104 another highlight for me in the air show would be the pair of Polish Su-22 Fitters. I was surprised by their show at Florennes. One of the brand new UH-72 Lakota from JMRC at Hohenfels AAF with the Aggressor camouflage would be a nice (and realis...

Today I saw the D-8114 (in pieces) and the P-248 inside the hangar along the road N-264. Is this correct?

This afternoon, 26 september 2012, this helicopter was transported to an unknow location (at least to me, I hope the driver knows what his destination is :D ).

ervaringen hotel/camping Ramstein

Hoi

Voor een artikeltje in Spotting Group Volkel's magazine AIM hoor ik graag goede of slechte ervaringen met overnachtingen op campings of in hotels rond Ramstein. Zijn er aanraders of juist afraders?

Greetings, Theo.

Are you 100% sure that both departed from Ramstein?? I thought they departed from Stuttgart instead of Ramstein. Cheers, Eric Both KC-130's 3023/QH and 2786/QH were at the ground when I arrived at Ramstein thursday 16 aug around noon. I saw them depart 17 aug. at 9.30 and 9.40 local time. Greetings...

Re: Volkel 22-5

Well, if they ban using air force vans to do private shopping outside the base, they could save money on fuel. That money can be used to do a decent paint job or proper stickers... Regards, Stefan Private shopping in Air Force vans is something I rarely or never experience, and would take a LOT of ...

Re: Volkel 22-5

I am very sorry, but I must say this looks very cheap. Tiger schemes have seen better days I guess. Agree, this must be one of the cheapest tigerscheme's ever. Atleast make an effort or don't try at all. (Same applies to the colours of the Apache demo BTW) And apparently they even can't get the pai...

I was there last week. Its a European type of coach and the tour takes about one hour. For the arrivals/departures ramp its best to sit on the right hand side of the bus. Celebrity row takes most of the time of the tour. The windows are indeed tinted and can not be opened.

OP Vliegbasis Volkel is altijd al een algemeen fotografieverbod geweest. Dwz dat er speciale toestemming nodig is om op de basis foto's te maken.
