ETAR Good Friday

Not a very good, not a very bad day. In the morning quiet hours: three movements in 5 hours. This was compensated later on. Here some shots from Leo's Canon. PS1 Did one our colleagues pick up his raincoat, because we found out he forgot to take it from the tree? PS2 Beware of ticks in this weather....

Re: Geilenkirchen (ETNG/GKE) - 2009

This morning no less than 5 NATO E3 left and one TCA. Tanker 80083 arrived from Ohio.
00374 was doing engine runs.
C12 40163 did circuits around 11AM.
The field was almost empty then, only one NATO E3 visible. Don't want to feed any rumours though.

Re: Phantoms at Soesterberg

While Henk was trying to stay out of the hands of the guards I just kept on taking my pics. Early seventies 32TFS traded their FY68 F4 for brand new FY74 examples. This one came in straight from the factory. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/hansderee/spotting/00663_filtered.jpg Often one F4 ca...

Old Swiss

Seeing the beautiful pics taken recently makes me think back. So I made scans of types no longer active in the Swiss Air Force. In alphabetical order: The Beech transport http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/hansderee/spotting/A713_filtered.jpg The Pilatus trainer http://i276.photobucket.com/album...

Found some Luftwaffe slides that may be of interest. Once there was a regular flight connection between Furstenfeldbruck and Soesterberg- both bases closed now. Ginas were flying on that route. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/hansderee/spotting/3424_filtered.jpg Beautiful day at Norvenich feb...

A7 and F4 deployed into Germany 80-ties

Spangdahlem saw several A7 deployment in the late eighties. I had been at Rickenbacker before, but seeing them again was OK: http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/hansderee/spotting/10323_filtered.jpg The OK unit was also present during one of the deployments: http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4...

Ramstein 18-02, first practice

My son (14) got the opportunity to test his skills with a new Canon. It was a beautiful day with good variety and plenty of sunshine. Landing and take-off shots are well covered at the FF-site. Here some other results. An Apache just after being unloaded from a C-17: http://i276.photobucket.com/albu...

Italian AB212s

Tommorrow we will try our luck again. On behalf of all spotters I would like to ask persons with the right connections to transmit the photographers request to Florennes ATC and AMI AB212 aircrew to use runway 26R or 08L for approach. Their reward will be beautiful portraits of these ships on the In...
