Departure day surprise

Today we hoped for many AMI and AME transports. At 0830 46-55 landed in semi-darkness. Later on the French CASA departed that landed yesterday. For other nationaties perhaps a lucky shot, but we were discontent with the total current Netherlands AF fleet of C130s G-273 and G-275 acting as TLP transp...

OPEN HOUSE UNCANCELLED

Early morning the weather cleared and quite a crowd turned up. Base Commander decided there would a families day. Extended family that is, spotters included. Parking was at base ramps and when these were full, the main runway was used. Obvously the flying display was not carried out. Very dirty log ...

Question mark

Just to fill in a question mark. The fourth person form the left is Fred (Willemsen). I would say the atmosphere was comparable to what Fred and I experienced some ..... (almost) 40 years ago. Time stood still (we hope). Oh and btw we checked this afternoon and RAF Herks were still there. Will proba...

Cleaning the log

Eric, Thanks for additions/corrections. 00450 seems to be in AMARC, and we did see 00460 two weeks so you must be right. I'm quite certain about 40180. Took a pic of this one at EHSB in 09-2006. KC10 was 50033 OK. An UH60 unloading a C17, ahum, that's a miracle... Rob, Just thinking it must have bee...

Low res far away

Yes I have, but far away with a simple digicam. Let's wait whether one of our German colleaugues got him on base or at Landstuhl or Mendig, we think he might have been heading towards one the two -Ramstein being busy too busy for patterns-. If not, I'll post my pic at the FF. Posting here is too com...

Serials

Just two weeks ago we saw at exactly the same location taxiing in: CY/660, CU/606, CT/620, NU/603 While we were there we saw only one person. He was walking his dog and left 30 minutes later. No gendarmes there. Armed F1s even did some checks right in front of us before returning back inside the she...
