Re: Spotting possibilities Colorado, Wyoming, S-D, Montana,

In Pierre, the capital of SD is a museum with an A-7 along a back road. The Ellsworth Museum is close to the base gate, and close to one of the approach ends. It contains interesting specimens. A base tour starts frorm there. Very interesting because you get to visit a missile silo. You won't get to...

Re: 14 July 2013 - Paris

My slides are back from Fuji.
The early morning Alpha-jet that departed Evreux at 8AM (and probably the one doing a high run over Paris) was 705-MH/E48

Re: Eagle Eyes program

Off course we have also seen the recently installed robot eagle eyes on both runways ends. It may be paranoid, but how do we recognize actual officials of this program from imposters? On the other hand if any photo, even with infra, is allowed by USAFE officials, and any photo will be erased by Poli...

Re: Ramstein 8-2 braving the blizzard

Yes, shrubbery and trees have been cut.
To have a good view on what's happenig at the fence (for the authorities).
For spotters, to not have trees or branches on photos, and to have a clear view of the approach.
So we're working hand in hand.

Ramstein 8-2 braving the blizzard

It wasn't so bad as in US Northeast, but we needed some courage. Flying was not bad with busy local traffic, two KC-10s and arrivals of all three Galaxy versions. Landstuhl helos did approaches: 075 during a snow shower 3mar1.jpg Local Gulf during of the short spells of sunshine. 3mar2.jpg McGuire C...

Re: Ramstein - infra discussion

So no pictures even not of aircaft in the air!!?? That's somewhat fundamentalistic. For prospective visitors don't let yourself be scared! A day at the fence is already exciting enough : you never know what will come, if and when they are going to change runway direction, whether the location where ...

Re: REQ: seoul airshow/osan airpower day

In 2011 I was one of the unlucky being refused entrance at Osan. We went to the approach where we had lunch with local policemen. It was two times unlucky when it became clear that all Korean participants landed from our side and all USAF (4 F16, 4 A10, U2) from the other. It's best to get inside (r...

Re: Ramstein - infra discussion

Now that there is a camera placed on the other side of the fence we sould not worry. Security is monitoring us.
The only thing is that we don't look too fancy in winter gear (and in summer gear neither maybe).

Ramstein MIL 3-1-13

For those uninterested in low quality unsunny and/or infra pictures, please refrain from looking. At Ramstein there is always things to see, even when the weather is bad. 1. Just after parking the car at 0815 a C-5M came in. 2. We had to hurry to see this interesting C-130H. Too cold to hold the cam...
