A day out on the SPTA and visit to Boscombe Down.

With a few days to spare recently, I decided to spend some time out on the SPTA and earlier in the year on a very nice day I sat at Boscombe, patience and a good book seems to work? 1. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48608727167_dba23fbc19_b.jpg Salisbury plain and Boscombe Down-9 by Michael Fis...

RAF Tornado GR.1s extremely busy at Honington, circa 1993

Whilst sorting through the Italian Tornados in my previous post I found these RAF Tornados, predominantly GR.1s from 15 Res Sqn, 27 Sqn, 617 Sqn, and a GR.1A from 13 Sqn all very busy, flying! 1. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48531305896_aa9e510f73_b.jpg ZA563:TC and ZA608:TK Tornado GR.1s 15 ...

I found the most significant problem to be the armed soldiers in the jeep that drives around the perimeter track? Certainly not to be messed with.

Swiss F5E/F seem to have a new owner

It appears that the US DOD draft budget has a purchase for 22 F5E/F Ex Swiss AF for the sum of €39,676,00 quite a bargain, they appear destined for the USMC.

Re: 07jan2018: Saudi Panavia Tornado down, possibly shot dow

Just found this, Saudi F15S downed. https://youtu.be/kYtuf7J_5vM The Houthis say the downing of the F-15S is separate from the Jan. 7, 2018 incident, where rebel forces ‘supposedly’ downed a Saudi Tornado IDS/ECR attack aircraft. The Saudi-led coalition claims the Tornado experienced “a technical fa...

Re: Isreali F-35 grounded, bird strike or S-200 missile.

I agree with the Isreali colonel Nri Irkoni, who's opinion is that we know bird migration routes, they have happened for millennia, training on a $110 million aircraft, really in that area!

Isreali F-35 grounded, bird strike or S-200 missile.

Isreal confirms one of its F-35 super jets grounded due to a collision with two Storks, strange as it has passed its bird strike certification! they say it will be back flying within days! Meanwhile, the Syrian Defence Force are saying they have launched a S-200 Russian built missiles to defend a an...

Exercise Cobra Warrior, night flying at RAF Coningsby.

Spent a few hours at RAF Coningsby for exercise Cobra Warrior, had the idea, to try and get a few atmospheric shots through the fence, at night! Not as easy as one might think! I hope you may enjoy them. 1. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4457/37480770401_9f4fe7cc3f_b.jpg Exercise Cobra, Coningsby 20...
