Re: Curacao, Dutch Caribbean pics

thanks guys! at least the disguise of the Herk seems to work 8) The Herk is a standard C-130E, modified for counterdrugs missions, hence the extensive antenna suite (Senior Hunter or Senior Scout). It seems to take only a few days to modify the aircraft and turn it back to a normal cargo hauler. It ...

Re: Curacao, Dutch Caribbean pics

Hola friends, time for a few more pictures from the sunny Caribbean. Most of these were made over the past year or so, showing some of the variety we have here in both aircraft and spots around the airfield. I hope you enjoy! First, various Herkybirds on the go: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4147/5...

Re: Mi-17 at Rotterdam Harbor 31 July

Nice catch guys, thanks for sharing! :D this helicopter was delivered as EJC-388 on 02 August 2002 to Colombia; first noted with its new registration EJC-3388 in November 2009, also in Colombia. The parent unit of these helicopters is Batallon de Aviacion No.3 at Tolemaida. The Colombians refer to i...

Re: Curacao Hato 20-07-2010

Cool stuff as always at Hato! :D The place from where the pics were made is called the Mirador, which used to be an official viewpoint. It is spot no.6 on the airfield guide, which is indeed located on the Weg naar Hato. Please check the airfield guide for more information or drop me a private messa...

Re: Comox (CYQQ/YQQ) - 2009 MIL

Interesting, not many people log these!

C-GKNK has no military background. Most Bird Dogs have been taken over from the Canadian Forces, which used to call them CO-119. Later, some were obtained on the civil market by the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. The gliders never had military serials.

Re: Mombasa Moi IAP 5-7-2010 Home of the Freedom Fighter

Cool pics.

Maybe you should consider changing the title: the F-5E/F is called Tiger II, not Freedom Fighter (only the F-5A/B).
Not an inappropriate name for the location either

Re: laag, lager, laagst

Re: RAF Chief: British A400M's are NOT to be called "Grizzly"...

Finally, there is something like a European transport aircraft flying after years of headaches, and to celebrate this joyful fact they come up with a name which is overtly related to a North American species..... you would think the marketing boys and girls at Airbus have had more than enough time t...

Nice logs, please keep them coming!

Have you spent the entire day at the airport on the 23th? Or on the 24th?
Three Super Tucanos for the DominicanAF were scheduled to visit Aruba on delivery from Brazil. They were expected in the Dominican Republic on the 24th, but could have been delayed.
