Most likely three RAF Merlins inbound Groningen for a fuel stop. They're on their way to Denmark.

They were indeed based there for Dädalus. There should have been one helicopter more, but this one was locked in a hangar, on alert. The Kiowa was not based at Dornbirn, but at some army barracks nearby.

Correct, but I thought they are only visible when over 1500 feet. These aircraft are shown through MLAT receivers. Or something like that. Also German Typhoon visible.

En bedenk dat niet alleen de Nederlandse inlichtendiensten en justitie zich hiermee bemoeien. Ga er maar vanuit dat er ook de nodige buitenlandse inlichtendiensten en dergelijke op de achtergrond een rol zullen spelen. En zoals Nilsko zegt, spotters zullen niet bepaald een rol spelen in hun voorbere...

According to Russia Today, it crashed on it's third landing attempt. They mention a crew error as possible cause of the crash. Although it seems too early te mention any possible cause.

probably due to problems the Germans are having with the availability of the fire-department at various airbases?
Buchel Tornado's are based at Nörvenich because of that, and Wunstorf also seems to have those problems...

Dixie is used by the WTD-61 C-160D. Don't know if other WTD-61 are using this one also, or not

GAFE callsigns are Büchel Tornado's, GAFN I'm not sure though, but I suppose Nörvenich Typhoons.

@Gustav, there are no German C-130's. Ghost looks more like a callsign of Tornado or Typhoon to me. But I could be wrong of course.
