Belgium has a total of 8 on order + 2 TTH options to be firmed at a later date the order consists of 4 NFH (based at Koksijde to replace the Seaking Mk.48 and Alouette III) and 4 TTH (to be based at Beauvechain) although...

Re: Base commander: "Florennes Air Base could close"...

i read this to, it appears the "Old Man" is complaining about his retirement before he could be promoted to General.
the MoD has already said the Florennes will NOT close, as it has not been noted for closure in the defence cuts made some time ago.

Re: German AF Eurofighters grounded?

first the NH90, then the Tiger HAP and now the typhoons.
its strange none of the other countries noticed all the problems, either EADS germany is building faulty equipment to make them ready faster, or the problem (like the ejector seats) could be with the subcontractors (thales, Martin-Baker,...)

Re: Royal Navy awards catapult programme for new Carriers....

i think it would be wise for the RN to have CATOBAR capable carriers, they would not only be able to use the F-35B, but could also operate more capable aircraft such as the E-2D, F/A-18, Rafale,... another advantage is multinational cooperation, not only britain, but also the US and france could ben...

Re: SAR-Meet Kiel-Holtenau

The Belgians (Seaking Mk.48 serial RS05) have withdrawn from the SAR meet, it arrived back at Koksijde this morning, after the other 3 seakings (RS02, 03 and 04) were not able to fly to either maintainance and technical problems.

sadly, this is the reason we need those NH90's fast.
