I already thought so you made the pics @ De Wijk. My grandma lives overthere and I've been there once.
There are also some storks in the neighbourhood of Assen (Rhee, Oudemolen), maybe also near Westerbork or haven't you seen them there yet?

I could see the black & white stripes of the plane and indeed I think it was the Damn Yankee, a.k.a. PH-PSI.

It flew from the north to the south. So probably to Lelystad.

Besides the Chinook, there was also a Cougar flying around @ Assen today.

I saw the Cougar around 11.30/12.00 local, also with slingload, overhead our office & Motel van der Valk heading TT-circuit (De Haar).
