2021 Overview; It was a Fantastic Aviation year!!!! See you next year in 2022...

Post by Redskin301 »

The year is over. It is therefore time to look back on 2021. For me personally a good year in which I rediscovered my own country. Due to the Covid restrictions, little could be traveled and therefore I mainly filmed in my own country. In just over an hour and a half, this film shows how much beauty has passed here in 2021.

A few highlights for me were the withdrawal of the 1CAB via Gilze-Rijen and the activities around the WIC and the farewell of the F-16 at Leeuwarden. 2021 was mainly a year of farewell within the Royal Netherlands Air Force, for example, we said goodbye to the F-16 at Leeuwarden, goodbye to the KDC-10 at Eindhoven and goodbye to the Delta Chinook at Gilze-Rijen. The RNLAF is in a process of change towards a future-proof company. Several F-35s have been delivered and the MMU at Eindhoven took a few new Airbus A330s into service. Several CH-47F Chinooks have also been delivered to Gilze-Rijen as a replacement for the Delta Chinook.

A lot happened on the local airfields and that resulted in some fun and varied films. 2021 was therefore a good aviation year for me, despite the limitations. On to 2022 and let everyone enjoy looking back at the highlights of last year. Don't forget to turn up the volume, because that's the advantage of filming! To all Runway28 subscribers and fans, thank you so much for your support this year and thank you for watching my videos. I wish everyone many happy landings for 2022!!!

Thanks for sharing this nice overview. You've put a lot of effort in this film :worship:

About ' 13:26 - 05-07-2021, Leeuwarden, Viper Flyout': I noticed J-509 having a 'kill marking' in the form of a truck (or something like that). What's the story behind this marking? F-16.net tells me that J-021 was marked with a "Terberg Killer" marker in 1999 as it hits a weapons truck (Terberg) on a taxi track but nothing about the J-509. Can someone can lighten this up?
