McDonnell Douglas MD-11 operated by UPS Airlines
crashed near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) on Tuesday,
according to multiple reports.
Flight data suggests the aircraft, bound for Honolulu,
only gained an altitude of 175 feet
before making impact south of the airfield at around 17:13 (EST).

Reported fatalities and injuries:
At least seven people have died and 11 were injured,
Gov. Andy Beshear said Tuesday, warning the numbers could climb as the investigation continues.
The Louisville mayor said the three crew members on board the plane are presumed dead
and four of the people confirmed dead were not on the plane.

Engine #1 at the side of the runway:
According to pictorial evidence engine #1 (left hand engine, CF6)
separated the airframe during rotation for takeoff,
the departure of that engine
may also have failed the center engine #2.
