The year 2025 saw significant changes to the U.S. Air Force A-10 fleet. Several units were inactivated, including the 25th FS at Osan Air Base, 104th FS of the Maryland Air National Guard, 40th FTS Detachment 1 and the 47th FS (FTU) at Davis-Monthan. While its A-10 mission has ended, the 47th FS is expected to be reactivated in the future as a F-35 FTU.
The A-10’s from these squadrons were either redistributed to the remaining operational units or retired from service. Below is a recap of the airframes currently believed to be operational, based on sightings from the past two years.
