Very strange one. Ref. the chart shown by

Their heading when almost coasting in was pointing at about 8 NM final for 21. After the left turn they headed for OPENG but overshot, then turned right at about the same distance from OPENG as KABIB is, but from the wrong track obviously. Despite the ATC warnings they hit the highest mountain near them, just below a ridgeline.
Curious about the nature of the ATC calls, i.e. general indications while on own navigation, or vectors. Either way, very odd to crash despite the attempted help.
