Tuesday and Wednesday were gorgeous, Santa Ana winds provided uninterrupted view out past the Coronado Islands. Thursday there was a marine layer offshore that came in with a vengeance and reduced visibility to 1/5 mile.
Convoy 4463 (C-40 Clipper) attempted to land on 36 and did a missed approach in the fog, flew over the city, and ended up landing on 18. 10 minutes later one of the Growlers came in, missed the approach, flew over the city, and diverted to El Centro. I never saw either jet, at that point, I couldn't see Island Tower, couldn't see the Hotel Del, packed up and headed home. Mrs Grad, who normally ignores the flying, commented on BOTH jets flying over the house when I got back.
