Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

This Photo Forum (please read before you post!)

As the original thread became a bit disorderly, I created a new message for a better overview.
===========================================================================

All,

This forum was created after much demand for posting your aviation related images.
But as we do not allow those images to be uploaded to this message board, you need to host them somewhere else, before you can link to them from this forum.

When you have (somewhere) your own web space, and you know how to upload your images there, you can use that space, and then link to your image with something like::

Code: Select all

[img]http://www.mydomainname.com/~mywebspace/images/scramble/myimage.jpg[/img]
When you do not have your own web space, or you do not want to use it, you can use one of the specialised image hosting providers, like; Just follow the descriptions on those sites to get your images displayed here. (but basically they should still look something like the link above). Do link to the 'Direct' version please!

Note that this forum is only for 'showing' your images as described above, not for posting links (including thumbnails) to other sites, either your own site or some general site's like a.net, Jetphotos, or Airpics and similar sites. Those should by posted in the "Your Website" forum.

And a small reminder; English is also the required language in this forum!

Have phun!

Regards,

The Admin team.

(ps. when you know any other free image hosting provider, please let me know, so I can add them to the list).

All,

One small remark about those links you have to use; the [img]...[/img] tags are so-called BBCode. When you have for one reason or another turned those BBCodes off, your image will not show!

The settings for the BBCode (for all your postings) can be found in your profile: "Always allow BBCode:" should then be turned on to "yes", or per separate posting, don't check the 'Disable BBCode in this post' below the text box.

As a side note; turning off the BBCode will also disable any other markup 'tags' (from bold & italic to using smileys).

Regards,

Hans

Hans,

could you add a remark that embedding pictures from Airliners.net is useless for most viewers? (apparently you need an Airliners login cookie to view the pictures)

TIA
Greetz,

Patrick

You already did :-)

When I will do an update of the first post, I will include it, but for the time being I guess your remark will be sufficient.

Maybe it is an idea to add a link to the

Photos: more of the same? topic
(http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43530)

and the general Photography topic
(http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f=26)

Both give people hints that might be useful to read before uploading photos. Or maybe you want to await the development of the current discussions in the Photography forum first.

On behalf of several users: please include clear names in topic titles, not just location codes. Thank you!

And I would like to bring the above to your attention once more.
We still see about 30% of all topics appear with just a location code in the title*. This is not very kind towards a significant part of the viewers.

* which then gets edited, time permitting...

Thanks for the co-op - hopefully 8)
