Fulcrum1974 wrote:I especially like the first one with the brown out, great action picture. But the last one is also a spectaculair one. A pitty that there's a Chinook (what we called: a non-essential bus :) avt-people will know what I mean ) on the photo.
Thanks
The brownout was also caused by two AH64. One was hanging 1 mtr above the tree i was standing under. I got pictures of them to but thats another topic

I like the picture because you see the pilot getting in as well.

Also the Swedish one (ok a Super Puma or Hkp-10) is a must see!

A little bit off topic, but can somebody tell me where the mirrorsystem on the nose of this Swiss Cougar is being used for?
I can´t remember I saw this before.

I think these mirrors are used for the transport of goods under the helicopter.

By the way, found a recent picture of a RNLAF Cougar at airport Weeze (Niederrhein).

Picture can be found at http://www.sgniederrhein.eu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (click "photo's" and "2007")

Does anyone know why there where several Cougar helicopters at Airport Weeze (Niederrhein) in february ?

It's quit simple: The mirrors are used to keep an eye on the slingload, special during picking up and dropping of underslingloads. The RNLAF uses a loadmaster, as a third pair of eyes, for that job. :)

are there any photo's of the Cougar which was badly damaged in Norway, some weeks ago? I don't know the serial but I know it flew back to the Netherlands about two weeks ago, with a one time release.
