Meiringen (LSMM) - 2007

Post by Guest »

Hi all,
could I expect to see movement next wednesday/thursday (14 and 15 of march) even if the exercise starts today (I know that usually they do not fly a lot the first days)?
This because even if I planned to go there next week, meteo forecast say that it will be a rainy mid march and april.
This week instead it seems it will be nice weather.
You know, I have a 6/7 hour trip to go there....

thanks for your help.

You should expect lots of flying activity on wednesday and thursday. I also heard that there will be flying in the evening on thursday.

Usually, they will fly in the evening on Tuesday. Thursday is the alternate day, if the weather is bad.

Anyway, there are some CH-53 of German Army at Alpnach and they will visit places like Meiringen or Sion.

Today in the morning, only 2 tigers flew from Meiringen. One immatriculation was J-3079.

3 Bo-105 of german Army flew overhead the field.

Many thanks for your help.

Last question. How many hours of sun in Meiringen in this period? I've been there only once during summer with cloudy weather.
Which hours are best to take pictures?

thanks in advance and regards

You will have sun almost all day. The sun starts in the morning on one end of the runway and ends on the other end of the runway. So its more or less possible to keep the sun in your back the entire day when you are standing on the right side of the airfield.
