Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what time approximately the flying display starts & finishes at ILA?

I know the doors are open from 10am until 6pm but I would appreciate it if someone could give me approximate details of the display times for flight planning purposes.

Thanks in advance,

Frank.

Thanks for the info guys, I plan on getting Ryanair to Schonefeld from Dublin, it arrives at 9.05am, so it looks like I should have enough time to get to the show site before the flying starts, might not get the best photo position but you can't have it all your own way I suppose!

Frank.

Unfortunately for you maybe, but the busservice from the terminal at Schoenefeld to the ILA has been much criticized over the years, so arrival at 09.05 looks as a bit late

aviodromefriend,

Thanks for your information. I've been considering flying to Berlin on Saturday, I had thought that arrival at 9am on Sunday was too late, especially for getting a good spot, looks like I'll be flying on Saturday now.

What are the train services like, I'll need to get to Tempelhof on Sunday evening after the show and from what I can see on train maps I can get a train directly from the air show site, is this correct?

Is there much of a queue first think in the morning, gates open at 10am but what time is best to get there?

Thanks in advance,

Frank.

Maybe a strange question, but could someone provide some info about the parking facilities during the public days? Can't find anything on the website... :?

They operated from Berlin-Tegel (I saw 10x CH-53, 4x Tiger UHT and 1x French Tigre HAP there)
When looking for Berlin-Tegel at Google maps, you'll find the CH-53's and the Tigres on the north apron and taxiways; picture must have been taken during ILA 2006 then... I saw 10 CH-53's, 6 Tigres, 2 Challengers and an EC135 :-)

And another press release.
With over 300 aircraft on display the ILA leads the world. The Airbus A380, the world’s most modern and most advanced passenger aircraft, will definitely be making an appearance at the ILA and other giants of the air such as the Boeing C-17 and Antonov An-124 will be keeping the Airbus company in Schönefeld. Among the aircraft making their first appearance in the general aviation sector will be the Global 5000 business jet from Bombardier (Canada), the single-engined Socata TBM 850 turboprop, the Cessna 350 and Cessna 400 as well as the twin-engined “Shark”, a touring aircraft from Slovakia.

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) of this year’s partner country, India, intends to display its single-engined HJT-36 “Sitara” jet trainer, the light military and civil helicopter “Dhruv” and the “Tejas” light combat aircraft for the first time in Europe.

Hm, I don't really understand what they mean with that last part of the sentence... :confie:
