I said it before and I´ll say it again. Without a doubt the coolest paintjob on a viper ever.
Yup that is a cool one, but this one is also pretty high on the coolest viper ever list :-)

Some of the ULTIMATE aggressors or Adversary aircraft can be seen here below. These have all been part of the ultra secret Have Drill (MiG-17) and Constant Peg Programs (the others) that took place in the eighties at Tonopah AFB in the Nevada desert.

Image

The MiG-21F, the MiG-17 and the Su-7 are now at Nellis AFB. The camo MiG-21F sits in the nice Armament museum near Eglin AFB in Florida.

Aviation Journalist Steve Davies wrote a book about these black programs that were only declassified late '07. The book, Red Eagles, America's Secret MiGs, can be obtained via Amazon. No, I don't know Steve even though I love his work ;-)

Agressors

Post by Hornet69 »

Hi Dino,

your collection is beautifu :D l. ... but I think most of these airplanes or units are not operational any more. So way before the digital SLR's.

Question:
How did you scan your slides? Can you give me details? Which equipment, filesize- and type. Any extra software?

... and last but most important; please keep posting more! This counts for all the others too.

Grtz,

Edward.

Hi Edward,

Yup these are al slide scans and are taken way before the DSLR era.
It starts that i have taken all my slide's on Velvia 50 for very good sharpness.
Currently i use a Canon Canoscan 8800F and Photoshop CS3 with the twain driver to scan them. After scanning i reduce noise with noiseninja and do some unsharp mask. Then some shadow/highlight and some little saturation.
that's it...

I hope this wil give you the answer...

Hi Dino,

thanks for your answer. I am looking for a good slide scanner. Until last year I used Kodachrome 64 film. ... so to digitalize my slide collection I would like to use a quality scanner. But that's a different topic. At the moment I use CS3 but noiseninja is unknown. Will look for that later (google). My main problem will be to find the time to process the slides.

Once again just keep showing your agressors.

Kind regards,

Edward.

Scanning Kodachrome... pfff not very funny at all, getting the colours right is a hell of a job.
