Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

O boy... I must have dozens of pictures of big and/or strange formations, but first I have to find my slides and scan them...
By coincidence I already had 3 pictures scanned, so here they are

1 8 Fokker S.11 Instructors on 5 may 1985 at Rotterdam:

2 12 FAP Chipmunks at Montijo on 28 june 1987:

3 12 Fokker S.11 Instructors at Lelystad on 22 august 1987:

If I remember well I must have a picture somewhere of 44 helicopters at the open day at Rheine-Bentlage in 1985...

Just wondering, were these still flying in service? I started spotting in 1989 and I cannot remember 'just missing' them. But in that case, were there still 12 flying around as civilians?

Erwin
picture 1; made at "40 years Liberation airshow" at Rotterdam, consisted of 8 civilian Instructors:

PH-ACG, PH-GRB, PH-GRY, PH-HOG, PH-HOK, PH-HOL, PH-SLO, OO-MCH, OO-PCH (so one of them was not in the formation)

picture 2; made at the Tiger Meet '87 at Montijo, Portugal:

all FAP Chipmunks: 1302, 1306, 1308, 1309, 1321, 1323, 1325, 1335, 1339, 1345, 1365, 1366, 1369 and 1372
(so two of them were not in the formation, but you can read the numbers from the underside of the left wing; there were 4 more in the static display)

picture 3: made at "5 years Fokker Four" airshow at Lelystad, all civil S.11's:

PH-ACG, PH-AFS, PH-GRB (E-20), PH-GRY (197), PH-HOG, PH-HOI, PH-HOK, PH-HOL, PH-SLO, G-BIYU (E-15), OO-MCH, OO-PCH (E-1)
So all S.11's on that day were in the formation and this big a formation of S.11's has not been repeated since!

Not the best quality, I know. But it's special I think.
Shot at the London Ontario Air Show during the seventies or early eighties, I don't know, but it is a special formation: 1 Snowbird, 1 Blue Angel, 1 Patrouille de France, 1 Frecce Tricolore and 1 other I don't know. Anyone is to what the missing plane is and when this shot was taken ? If solved, a whole tray of slides can be dated as well......

not a very tight formation but still a very special one. 3 French Mirage F1, 3 Spanish Mirage F1, 3 Norwegian F-5, 3 USAFE F-15's and 3 RAF Phanton F-4J (UK) at the 1986 Tiger Meet at Cambrai
