With Scramble ceasing their trips several years ago, and the recent demise of HAT, I'm only aware of this group doing tours from The Netherlands, although Onze Luchtmacht has its occasional bus trips - but those are for members only.

While the above mentioned 4Aviation primarily focusses on military aviation, the same guys behind 4Aviation started a second site, more aimed at the civil aircraft spotter: Airlinertours.net. Not a lot of tours offered (yet), but includes worldwide tours.

Another relative new group, also operating from the Netherlands, is Dutch Aviation Tours (site only in Dutch). Not a lot of tours either, with all being bus travels, so 'limited' to 'nearby' destinations.

As a side note: spottertrips.eu (from Belgium, already mentioned before) now also offers pick up points in the Netherlands.

Nice one.... those guys are going to the ILA (Berlin) in June, although this years ILA is scheduled for September

Hi,

Not real actual 'travelling', but what may be interesting for those worldwide travellers (like most spotters ), especially when you are an internet/mail/facebook/twitter/etc junkie (like myself ), to bring down your data (roaming) bill while travelling abroad;

Droam (http://www.droam.nl/) offers a solution for internetting while abroad, which uses an additional device -about the size of a mobile phone- which acts as a WiFi hotspot that connects you to the internet. You can attach up to five of your own devices (or those of your fellow travellers!), laptops, tablets or mobile phones.
Although they claim to have a 'worldwide coverage', this actually is only in some 50 countries, although this includes most European countries and selected other countries worldwide (including for example USA, Australia, South Africa).

I haven't used it yet myself, but I've read a couple of reviews, which in general are positive (apart from one guy which didn't get back his deposit!), and looking at the prices they offer, this certainly beats the costs Dutch telco's charge you when roaming on your standard subscription

Certainly there are other similar companies around, but I by accident I came across this one, and thought it might be of use.

Two other site which might be interesting to people travelling to Asia;

Agoda.com: Hotel bookings. Based in Singapore, it particularly has a good coverage of Asia (it's coverage of China is the best I have found until now - for any English language site that is off course )

Chinatraveldepot.com : Chinese site: used it only for internal flights myself, but it also offers hotels and tours and so on.

Here is a useful German site for those traveling through Europe, it has many cheap airport parking options, I have used them numerous times and it made it easier to get to the airport. After less then two years in business, Airlinertours.net will no longer offer any civil orientated trips any more.

kicking live back into this topic:
in short: The BBC TV- consumer programme ripoffbritain states last week after complaints that:

cancellation of hotel accommodation booking with Easyhotels may lead to disappointment (and loss of money).

bottom line: even when within ToU-rules, you'll end up NOT getting a refund into your bank account. How they do that?: by way of 'smart' use of words in their terms of use. instead you're going to get only digital vouchers for later use, but valid only within a short time frame.
Easyhotels terms-words were since slightly adjusted, But the outcome will be the same. No refund of money.

Helas: PC-viewing only in the UK due to restricted streaming.

Tickets to the US west coast are now extremely cheap, so if anybody is interested in a spotting trip to that area, please let me know. November is generally a good time over there.

The explosive increase in long haul bustravel has now resulted in two extremely good services for Amsterdam based spotters.
Flixbus has nightly departures to Paris CDG airport and Frankfurt Airport from Amsterdam Sloterdijk station.
Overnight busses in both directions ! departing around 2300 arriving around 6 am.
Putting you right where you need to be.
Fares are approx. 20-40 Euro one way.

For 50 Euros you can have a full day spotting !
No hotel costs, just two large coffees to start your day !
