Does anybody know when the formal withdrawal/ceremony is of the A-10's/81st?
Is there a special day for that? Any info welcome! Thanks.

Sometime early next week I guess. They did test flights with center line tanks earlier this week already.

Another unit gone.

Todays departure is not the final as some sorties are planned for next week as well.

Like I said. Focus more on Thuesday, if not Wednesday for disbandment ceremonies.

They don't have the exact date, but they will be leaving sometime next week. According to a mail I received from the PAO.

It is as of now postponed till saturday ( tomorow) for some deaprtures of A-10's

Logical, as some tankers just arrived in the UK for delivery of some CONUS based F-16's to Poland today.

Last official mission is next Tuesday....Then they will overfly the old FOL airfields such as Sembach, Leipheim etc........ ;-(
There are still 10 A-10C's on strength but all are gone at the end of May. In June the 81st Fighter Squadron will be deactivated.

Thanks for your very helpful updates, guys! And so, the remaining four "Spang Hogs" should be A-10Cs 81-0945, 81-0988, 81-0992 and 82-0647. Any update would be welcome! Last mission in Europe before leaving? Fly-overs to honor former operating bases?
