That was the 15-10

Next question: what was the cause of the emergency?

If i remember correctly oil leak at short final 05. Decleared emergency Made go around 05 and went With short turn to 09 into the cable. Number 3 and 4 had to make a go around as 05 is crossing the 09. Second go around was because fire trucks had to cross the 05. After stopping into the cable the pilot reported all problems solved.

Many issues today:
Deer on the runway departures had to wait
F18 almost landed 09 while cleared 05
F16 full Ab in take off, hard stop, was not sure if he received take off clearance
F16 take off had gear problem but could in the end continue mission

Which F-15 during the afternoon mission came in landing with 85-0094. I only got the ..8/MA, but there are several candidates :?

Thanks in advance.

A deer on an military airbase which is fenced. What is more important? The safety of the pilots or a deer? I would say catch the deer and put this animal free in a nature park were this animal belongs.

There are plenty of deers in a forest just east of the base and these deers are very clever as they enter the base through the main gate when at evening there is only a guard inside the guardhouse and not outside at the gate :D

IT where actually 2 running over the runway behind the holding 05 otherside and then over the Hill.

Spectacular was the f18 supposed to land 05 but took the 09. Call from the twrif hè was sure to land 05? Last moment turn to the right trying to land 05. Was.by far to short turn. Instruction by twr to make left turn and Climb was With a lot of noise just in front of the Hill.

When I was stationed at Leeuwarden I noticed several times deers jumping over the fence (!!) and running/crossing the taxi/runway. I think it is part of "normal life" at this base

Not an easy job to catch them and in order to garantuee the safety of the planes and more important the pilots it is a no brainer to temporary stop any aircraft movement.

A bit of a oil leak is not surprising.Found a log of 1989 where 15-10 was on a pre exchange with 315 sqn on Twente.

This was common at Soesterberg AB also. Never saw actual flight ops being impacted by this BTW.
