Omdat de Boeing 747-400 Combi ook 24 paarden aan boord had, was landen in Noord-Amerika geen optie.
Ongeveer halverwege, boven de Canadese provincie New Brunswick, maakte het vliegtuig rechtsomkeert.
Een woordvoerder van KLM meldt aan Nu.nl dat geen enkele luchthaven in de buurt in staat bleek om 24 paarden af te handelen.

Een andere overweging was dat het vliegtuig niet kon landen in een gebied waarvoor de passagiers niet het juiste visum hebben. :roll:

KL1825 AMS-TXL B738 PH-BXW is on it's way back to Schiphol, turned around just after passing the German border.

Incident: KLM B772 near Kazan on Dec 16th 2019, hydraulic problem
A KLM Boeing 777-200, registration PH-BQB performing flight KL-861 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Tokyo Narita (Japan),
was enroute at FL330 about 360nm north of Kazan (Russia)
when the crew decided to return to Amsterdam due to a hydraulic pump fault.
The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 18C about 4:10 hours
after the decision to turn around and stopped on the runway.
The aircraft was towed to the apron about 20 minutes after landing.
A passenger reported the crew announced one of the three hydraulic pumps had failed.
Due to weather they didn't want to divert to Siberia (Russia), therefore they were returning to Amsterdam.

According to FR24 KL871 to Delphi returned to Schiphol this afternoon.

Hello

Weet iemand wat er met de Cirrus Vision SF50. N29DE aan de hand is naast RWY04/22? 2 autorities auto's, jet aviation busje en een sleeper.

Ze hebben geen nose gear steering en ook nog eens een lekke band op het main gear :roll:
