i also noticed that the new F's for the RNLAF have no radar in the nose?
what will happen to the 6 delivered earlier, will they lose the radar too?

I'm not sure but I believe the remanufacturing of the 6 "old" CH-47F models is basically putting components of these 6 into new airframes.

So yes, I think they will lose the radar and when deliveries are completed there are 20 identical F models on 2 locations. There was a topic about this a while ago, if i can find it il will update this post.

But..... In the end they will have radar? Or not? Maybe stupid question, but I still don't get it.

No, they will essentially be a downgrade compared to the current CH-47Fs.

But still..... How big is the disadvantage? Pilots using it all the times? Because it's "just" and only a weather radar? Not tactical?

Met de komst van Chinook D-476 en D-477
kreeg het Nederlandse opleidingssquadron 302 in Fort Hood (US) terug twee nieuwe Chinook CH-47F MYII CAAS helikopters.

Deze kwamen eergisteren aan op de Amerikaanse basis en vervoegen daar de Chinook D-474 en D-475 die eind juli 2020 werden geleverd.

Update to my earlier message. In total Boeing delivered 9 CH-47F MYII CAAS helicopters to the RNLAF so far.

Additions to the earlier list of five aircraft (see above):
D-477 (M7477 / 16-07477) d/d 23-06-20
D-478 (M7478 / 16-07478) d/d 25-06-20
D-479 (M7479 / 16-07479) d/d 15-07-20
D-480 (M7480 / 16-07480) d/d 28-07-20

D-476 and D-477 were delivered to the Ft Hood 302 Squadron on 19 August, so they have four on the flightline now.

Best regards,
Edwin
