As you ask for comments:

I'm not sure what your goal is with this video.
Looking at it from a professional point of view, it's not very good. Doesn't stand out or excel.
Poor 'live recorded' registration of a historic moment. No post editing, what so ever.
Record & dump online is how it comes across.

So... How to do better next time?

Improvement points:
- The sability of the video can be improved. It's very shakey.
- Use a tripod next time, with ball head. That will also improve your panning.
- The (auto?) focus has some issues at some point. Cut that out. No one wants to see that.
- The aircraft holds for ~2 min, nothing happens, why keep it in your video?
- Put some ATC chatter in the video next time to make it more interesting
- Maybe add an intro or some text about what it is we are seeing, maybe include the date for postarity.
- Perhaps consider to add music?
- Dust spots visble in the entire video. Clean your sensor/lens before using it. (or remove them in post-editing).
- Maybe consder to use an external microphone to get rid of the sound of the wind.
- Do some post editing, loose the parts where you zoom in/out. Make it more 'clean' by just using select shots. Some wide angle, some close up. Choose one focus point an stick with it for a few seconds, etc.
- Keep your horizon level (again, tripod!)
- Make something special of it, that no one else did/has (other location perhaps). I could have stood next to you for this departure and record the exact same thing.

What the video has going for it:
- The captured moment is nice. Final departure from Schiphol for this a/c.
- Light settings are good, not too bright, not too dark (except for when it climbs out).
- 1080p quality is good, when in focus it's sharp.

Other point:
Right now it's just a link to a video.
Not even embedded. You can do that by adding the video like so:

Code: Select all

I'm on Scramble, I don't want to click to youtube for a single video, just to increase hits/likes/subscriptions on your videochannel. If that's also the goal, consider my tips as the quality improves so will the hits/likes, etc.

This is feedback on the video, not you as a person.

Just a question, It looks like the exhaust of the APU is covered with a white cover. Is that just reflection of sunlight or was the APU-exhaust covered?
