Thanks for the log! As I saw in a NOTAM, Caslav will open next monday after two weeks of closure. I'm in the neighbourhood: I might give it a try.
Based on earlier photos and logs I know where to go: but where to park the car? :-)
All the best,
Rob

Rob, a few years ago we parked in front of the cemetery of Caslav and walked the rest to the runway.

Have fun!

Cheers, Dick

Hi,
Thank you for reply. I will try to pay a visit this Monday.
As I read on the website of the base itself, 12 aircraft were TDY to Pardubice. Transport back to Caslav of personnel and equipment is planned this Monday... I will see!
All the best,
Rob

So today indeed the aircraft came back to Caslav!
We arrived at the fence around 8:30.
Gripen 9239 was tested before a maintanance hangar and Alca 6029 was towed and did some engine testing at the other end of the base.
Between 11:00 and 12:30 6 Gripens (9234, 9238, 9819, 9242, 9235, 9237) and 6 Alcas (6031, 6028, 6059, 6065, 6063, 6046) returned to Caslav from Pardubice. What happened after 13:15 I don't know… by 13:00 all aircraft were towed in shelters and left the flightlines empty.
Nice to catch 12 Czech fighters in a row!

Many thanks for this great log.
Alca 6029 is sold to Draken International and now flying as N269EM. Are you sure about the serial or is this a possible misread or typo??

I see I made two mistakes at once
The Alca that was towed in the morning and did some engine testing was actually 6067!
In the afternoon an Alca that just had landed was towed in our direction: i swapped these two and at the same time I made a typo of 6029 instead of 6028...
So 6067 was the one in the morning, and 6028 got towed in the afternoon.

All the best,
Rob

After a break caused by COVID 19, when the airshow was canceled, Gripen starts for the first performance this year at the Airshow in Cheb, which took place over the weekend. A pair of Gripen aircraft simulated interception against a civilian aircraft

For 20 years of operation with the Czech Air Force, the L-159 A Alca reg.6070 received an annual camouflage. On Saturday 19.9. started for the first public performance at the NATO Days 2020, which take place in Ostrava. The aircraft with the annual coloring was visited by the Air Force on Thursday, September 17th. when he flew from the Aero Vodochody factory to the home base of Čáslav.
