This T-33A, serial 53-4964/TR-964, came from Lindsey Air Station at Wiesbaden, Germany. Operated as a seperate squadron within the 7100th Combat Support Wing. |

Hastings C2 WD487 was operated by 1312 (Transport Support) Flight. The unit was re-formed on 14 September 1954 at RAF Abingdon, operating the Handley Page Hastings, and later the Vickers Valetta. It was disbanded on 1 April 1957. Nowadays it is an independent aircraft flight and based at RAF Mount Pleasant for supporting the defence of the Falkland Islands and other nearby British Overseas Territories. |
Number 56 Squadron 'The Firebirds' settled at RAF Waterbeach on 10 May 1950, where they would operate from for the next nine years. The unit converted to the Hawker Hunter F5 in May 1955. On 10 July 1958, the squadron moved to RAF Wattisham, where they would spend some 35 years defending UK airspace. Seen here is Hunter F5 WP120/S. |
