Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Helsinki museum
Hiya Pieter,
how far is the museum from the terminal ?
Would walking be more practical, or should i take a taxi if i'm rather pressed for time ?
Best regards,
Rene

Hi Rene,
Walking is possible but as far as I remember it 'll take some time for a round trip which is not the best idea when in a hurry. I don't know when you'll be travelling but remember that it get's pretty cold in winter, even inHelsinki.
You can take a taxy or one of the busses that go into town. I forgot which number but I guess everything in the direction of Helsinki passes the museum.
Regards,
SO

Re Transport:
If you exit the museum and take a right, you will see a airport car park with an associated free shuttle bus to the terminal.
From Helsinki city, take bus 415, 451 or 615 from the railway station towards Vantaa.
Re DC-2
The DC-2 fuselage is according museum information c/n 1562, former FinnishAF DO-3 and previous OK-AIC, D-AAIO, OH-DLB and OH-LDB.

the Haan is c/n 1354 and at this museum: http://www.k-silmailumuseo.fi/
