Las Vegas 17-18 Feb 2012
Two days at Las Vegas..
A superb spot at the touchdown point 25R.. Key factors for succes... , rent a pick up truck, and a 4 step ladder and 4 feet away from the fence will do the trick. No problems with the police if complying with the 4 ft rule....

Yes , see the text in the top of this message. All pics are taken from the outside.. Sunset boulevard Las Vegas. But you must have either a big ladder or like we did, a pick up truck and 4 step ladders in the back of the pick up truck.

Re: Las Vegas 17-18 Feb 2012
That is a fairly tricky place to take pics from. If you go further down Sunset Blvd you can get them landing higher up and you don't need ladders. I do like these shots though. Love the Allegiant with the Las Vegas strip behind. Nice Alaska retro and Jetblue NY Jets !StMaartenpiloot wrote:great airport, nice airliners.

Re: Las Vegas 17-18 Feb 2012
Why tricky? Itvis an official viewing location. Even visitors sre invited to tune their car radios to monitor atc.. Both airside ops and police patrol the location frequently, and do not have any objections as long as you will stay 4 feet away from the fence.. And why take anonomous landingshots while there is a superb place to catch the aircraft in action with that stunning Vegas background.culpano wrote:That is a fairly tricky place to take pics from. Re: Las Vegas 17-18 Feb 2012
Yeah I agree with the backgrounds. In my opinion it is tricky as you need a ladder. I can't carry a ladder with me in hand luggage can I and also I wouldn't fancy trawling a ladder across the USA. It is trickier taking pictures from the rung of a ladder than on the ground. I didn't realise it was an official spot.tonjochems wrote:Why tricky? Itvis an official viewing location. Well a tip, buy a mini ladder, 4 steps is enough. It will fit in a normal suitcase... Fill it up with your clothes andvyou are done

Re: Las Vegas 17-18 Feb 2012
I wish I'd have known this to be honest. I thought the authorities would be against people with ladders. I have heard people talk about this spot and that ladder required but I thought it wasn't allowed. Also I didn't realise you can buy mini steps that fit in suitcase. Thanks for tip. I will show my Vegas shots later (with anonymous background )tonjochems wrote:Well a tip, buy a mini ladder, 4 steps is enough. It will fit in a normal suitcase... Vegas a week or so later.
Did visit Vegas this weekend as well. I shoot without a ladder , don't like the official spotters location too much , as always keep a low profile and be polite when asked what you are doing and everything will work out as always even in the city that never sleeps.
