During my Arizona trip last August, two mornings were spent at Tucson IAP photographing the resident 162nd Fighter Wing Vipers. Here are a selection from less than ideal overcast conditions.

This is one busy airport with a number of waves of F-16's launching and recovering throughout the day.

Indeed nice stuff!!!
Pity that the Phantom will probably end up as drone...
Can you imagine that they are really going to shoot at it?!?

Uhm, given the fact that this Phantom is an QRF-4C means the airplane is capable to operate as dronePaveway wrote:Indeed nice stuff!!!

She will end as scrap eventually during a final air-to-air live fire mission.
IIRC she will be used for the time being as aerial training target, flown by a pilot to make sure the airplane recovers as the drone equipment fails quite often and would result in a financial black hole.

Let's hope that it may recover many more times, keeping her alive!
Otherwise, let's hope that the crew will exit before they are really going to shoot at it...

This is not a QRF-4C. It's a RF-4C on a test flight from Davis Monthan after years of storage and will be delivered te Mojave for the conversion to QRF-4C. It looks beautifull!
