Final RAF Poseidon delivered
On 11 January 2022, the ninth and final Boeing Poseidon MRA1, serial ZP809 (c/n 66109/8872) was delivered to RAF Lossiemouth.
The Poseidons are operated in a pool of 54 Squadron, 120 Squadron and 201 Squadron. 54 Squadron is the operational conversion unit (OCU), whilst 120 Squadron and 201 Squadron are the two frontline units. The Royal Air Force (RAF) has reserved six more serials for possible future orders.
The last two delivered aircraft have not been named yet. The other seven aircraft have been named as follows: ZP801 Pride of Moray, ZP802 City of Elgin, ZP803 S/L Terence Bulloch DSO DFC, ZP804 Spirit of Reykjavik, ZP805 Fulmar, ZP806 Guernsey’s Reply and ZP807 William Barker VC.
