First German Air Force Airbus A350 delivered

On 20 August 2020, Hamburg's Lufthansa Technik officially delivered the first Airbus A350-900 to the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) Executive Transport Wing. During a ceremony in Hamburg the A350 with serial number 10+03 and c/n 416 was handed over to the Flugbereitschaft des Bundesministeriums der Verteidigung (FBS).

The German government has ordered a total of three A350s to be operated by its air force. Having seen conversion work to a government aircraft since the beginning of May 2020, it is expected the aircraft will soon move to its homebase Köln-Bonn airport to carry out familiarization flights. Once all A350s have been delivered (Including 10+01 and 10+02), the FBS will phase out its A340s (Serial numbers 16+01 and 16+02).
