On 20 November 2024, the first Airbus H145M, serial number 75+56, was delivered to the Heeresflieger (HEER, German Army Aviation) at its base in Bückeburg, Lower Saxony.

The helicopter will be operated by the Internationales Hubschrauberausbildungszentrum (IHaz, International Helicopter Training Centre).

The H145M order was placed in late 2023. On 14 December 2023, the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) officially announced plans to acquire up to 82 Airbus H145M Leichter Kampfhubschrauber (LKH, Light Attack Helicopters).

Of these, the Heeresflieger is set to receive 57 helicopters, while the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) special forces will take delivery of five units, adding to the 15 H145Ms already in their inventory. Additionally, the Bundeswehr holds options for 20 more helicopters.

According to the delivery schedule, two to four helicopters will be delivered annually during the initial phase (2024–2025). The remaining 56 helicopters will follow in roughly equal tranches over the next three years, with deliveries expected to be complete by 2028. Scramble Magazine published a detailed delivery schedule overview on 29 December 2023.
