Saudi Hellenic joint exercise Falcon Eye-1 has commenced

With the arrival of six Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) F-15 Eagles on 13 March 2021 at Chania/Ioannis Daskalogiannis Soúda Air Base (Greece), the joint Saudi Arabian Hellenic exercise named Falcon Eye 1 had commenced. 

The six Eagles are expected to stay for some weeks and will exercise and integrate with the F-16C/D Fighting Falcons from 115 Combat Wing of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF, Greek Air Force). 

From the arriving RSAF Eagles, five have been identified so far from pictures and video released by the Saudi Ministry of Defence. The Eagles originate from 2 squadron/7 Wing at Tabuk/King Faisal Air Base (Saudi Arabia). 

In the days ahead the air base on the island of Crete saw a buzz of activity of Saudi supporting aircraft. Two C-130H Hercules transporters flew up and down twice on 10 March 2021. Details can be found in the overview:

9 March: 1sq/Royal Flight Ce550 Bravo HZ-136 from Riyadh
10 March: 4 Squadron C-130H 478 (call sign RSF9875) and 484 (call sign RSF9874/RSF9875), 16 Squadron C-130H 1630 (call sign RSF9872/RSF9873) all from Tabuk and 32 Squadron KC-130J 3209
11 March: 24 Squadron A330MRTT 2401 (call sign RSF9876)
13 March: 4 Squadron C-130H 483 (call sign RSF9985), 2 Squadron F-15C Eagle 209, 210, 213, 214 (+1), F-15D Eagle 231 all arriving from Tabuk
