Indonesia signs LoA for M346
During the Singapore Airshow on 4 February 2026, the Tentara Nasional Indonesia, Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU, Indonesian Air Force) signed a Letter of Award (LoA) with Leonardo to acquire the Block 20 variant of the M346F Master.
The type was selected to fullfil the advanced training and light combat needs of the air force. The number of aircraft was not disclosed nor was the type it is supposed to replace.
Although Dassault Rafales will be assigned to former Hawk units, this move is viewed as an expansion rather than a direct replacement. The Hawk itself is the logical aircraft to be succeeded by the M346F. Still, with T-50s also being used, it seems a bit strange to get these Masters.
It remains unclear which squadron will operate the M346F, and the aircraft may be assigned to a newly established unit.
