Indonesian Rafales start delivery flight

On 8 January 2026, three Dassault Rafale Bs for the Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU, Indonesian Air Force) took off from Bordeaux heading for Istres.

Their delivery flight is expected to commence soon and the planning is that they will arrive in Indonesia on or around 22 January 2026.

Work is still underway at their new home base Pekanbaru/Roesmin Nurjadin, where the Hawks have left earlier this week for their new home at Pontianak/Supadio.

The Rafales, serial T-0301 to T-0303, will be operated by Skadron Udara 12 (Skadud 12), with three additional aircraft scheduled for delivery in March. While a total of 24 aircraft have been ordered, with an option for a further 18, only the first six are confirmed to have been paid for. The status of the remaining aircraft remains unclear.

However, we can imagine that not all steps in the acquisition process are made public.
