L-39NG deliveries to CLV LOM Pardubice
The first Vzdušné síly Armády České republiky (CzAF, Czech Air Force) L-39NG Skyfox training aircraft, serial 0477 (c/n 167017), was delivered to the Centrum Leteckého Výcviku LOM s.p. (CLV–LOM) at Pardubice air base on 24 January 2025.
A second aircraft, serial 0478 (c/n 167018), followed four days later, on 28 January. The new training aircraft will be used for basic, advanced, and combat training.
On 14 November 2022, AERO Vodochody and LOM Praha signed a contract for the delivery of four new L-39NG training aircraft for the Czech Air Force.
The contract includes post-warranty support, high-altitude and survival equipment, initial training for pilots and ground personnel, ground equipment, initial sets of spare parts and consumables, flight planning and analysis systems, and a ground training system. The total value of the contract € 83 million (2.1 billion Czech korunas).
AERO Vodochody successfully completed the first flight of a series-produced L-39NG on 24 April 2023. The aircraft, temporarily registered as 0517 (c/n 167005), flew for 40 minutes, verifying functionality and behavior across all flight phases. This aircraft was delivered to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Air Force (SVNAF) in 2024. To date, twelve L-39NGs have been delivered to the SVNAF (serials 2301 - 2312, c/n 167005 - 167016).
In April 2022, the Hungarian government announced the purchase of twelve L-39NG aircraft for the Magyar Légierő (HuAF, Hungarian Air Force). The order included eight training and four reconnaissance aircraft. The first of these, temporary registration 0539 (c/n 167019), had its maiden flight on 19 January 2025.
