Mid-air collision RoKAF KT-1s

On 1 April 2022, two Dae Han Min Guk Gong Gun (Republic of Korea Air Force, RoKAF) KAI KT-1 Woongbi trainer aircraft, operated by 3 Training Wing, collided mid-air and crashed into a mountain near Sacheon Air Base, 3 Training Wings home base.

One of the two was KT-1 02-033 (msn 33), the other serial remains unknown for now.

While all four pilots ejected, three pilots died and one survived with serious injuries.

The reason for the collision is still under investigation.

3 Training Wing contains four squadrons, all operating the KT-1: 213 Flight Training Squadron, 215 FTS, 217 FTS and 236 FTS.
