Indonesia NC212i 1 640Recent Indonesian deliveries

Late January 2021, the Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU, Indonesian Air Force) received two new aircraft.

First up was NC212i, serial A-2112 (construction number 437/N117), that has been frequently spotted at Bandung making test flights as AX-2126 since mid-October 2020. On 26 January 2021, it was ferried to Malang/Abdulrahman Saleh were it joined Skadron Udara 4.

Eight more NC212s are on order, three transports, four in aerial photography and artificial rain making configuration and the eighth will be configured as a flying class room.

Skadron Udara 6, based at Bogor/Atang Senjaya received a NAS332C1e 'short' Super Puma from PT Dirgantara on 29 January.

Make no mistake, it may not be a long airframe but is the most sophisticated yet. It features Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS), a new FMS (Flight Management System), and an NVG (Night Vision Goggles) compatible cockpit. Clearly visible are the emergency flotation devices.

The basic airframe was first flown in May 2018 and it took some time to integrate all these new systems. It flew with temporary registration HX-3315.
